Preventing ingrown hairs – Home treatment
Ingrown hairs cannot be removed at the salon: they are treated during breaks between treatments. A hair is considered ingrown when it is unable to break through thickened or dehydrated skin – hair removal is not the cause of this, but merely makes the consequences visible.
This protocol describes the home care routine to be followed on areas prone to ingrown hairs: the bikini line, underarms and legs, for clients with curly hair or dry skin.
Two or three times a week, but never the day after hair removal. Exfoliation removes the layer of dead skin cells that trap hairs beneath the skin: this is the essential step; all the others are merely complementary.

Body scrub with sea salt – Miraveda, 500 ml
Apply the product morning and evening to the entire depilated area, starting the day after treatment. The lotion softens the hair follicles and promotes the growth of smoother hair. The effect will be visible from the next growth cycle, but not yet this week.

Concentrated lotion against ingrown hairs – Italwax, 100 ml
Always apply a small amount of concentrated paste to the areas where hairs are growing under the skin. Never pierce the hairs or remove them yourself: scars and pigmentation marks last far longer than the hairs themselves.

Ingrown Hair Prevention Concentrate Paste – Italwax, 30 ml
Elastic skin allows hair to grow outwards, whilst dry skin traps it inside. The lotion designed to slow down hair growth combines moisturising with a hair-growth-inhibiting effect: its effects become visible after three or four cycles of regular application.

Post-epilation Hair Growth Retardant Lotion – Italwax, 250 ml
Do not shave between sessions: hair cut too short grows back at a right angle and may become ingrown. Within 24 hours of your session, avoid tight clothing and strenuous physical activity. Avoid going to the sauna or steam room for two days.
