Fruit acid peel — normal, dry and mature skin

Soak a cotton pad with Rehydrating Tonic and apply it all over the face, neck and décolleté. Do not rinse.

Cleansing shifts the skin’s pH towards the alkaline side, and an acid applied to skin with an altered pH penetrates unevenly: too little in some areas, too strongly in others. The toner from the Timeless range restores the pH to its physiological level whilst simultaneously providing an initial boost of hydration, unlike the normalising toner, which is intended for combination and oily skin.

Cleanse the skin with the Degreaser, paying particular attention to the thickest areas. Then choose just one peel and apply it using the applicator – approximately 20 drops – using sweeping movements, from the forehead towards the cheeks, nose, chin, neck and décolletage. Avoid the eye area. Leave on for 5 to 10 minutes depending on tolerance, then rinse thoroughly.

Use only one acid per session; never combine two. LactiPeel is the first choice for dry skin: lactic acid exfoliates whilst retaining moisture. MandeliPeel is suitable for reactive skin and rosacea in remission; its molecules are too large to penetrate quickly. GlycoliPeel penetrates deepest and targets established wrinkles and dark spots; it is reserved for skin that has already tolerated the other two treatments. Monitor the skin constantly: diffuse redness is to be expected, but any blanching or sharp pain requires immediate neutralisation.

Carefully wipe the entire treated area with a cotton pad soaked in SOS Neutralizer, then rinse with cold water.

Neutralisation stops the acid reaction: without it, the peel continues to work after the treatment. SOS Neutralizer can also be applied during the treatment to an area that is becoming too hot, without interrupting the rest of the treatment.

Apply Papaya Peeling all over the face, leave on for 5 to 10 minutes, cover with cling film if a deep cleanse is to follow, then rinse off.

Papaya enzymes break down the proteins in dead skin cells without abrasion or additional acidity. On dry and mature skin, this step boosts microcirculation and cell renewal without adding to the irritation caused by the acid.

Optional step, to be carried out only if a deep cleanse has been performed. Soak a cotton pad with Exfol Lotion and wipe the skin thoroughly. For combination skin, apply the Calamine mask to the T-zone only and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.

On dry and mature skin, this step is usually skipped: the calamine mask is astringent and drying, so it has no place on cheeks that are already dehydrated. For this skin type, soothing is provided by the moisturising mask in the next step.

Apply 3 to 4 drops of Eye Lift Cocktail to the eye area and massage gently until fully absorbed. In a glass container, mix 5 drops of Hyaluronic Acid 3D and 5 drops of Age Repair Cocktail, apply to the face, neck and décolletage, then proceed to the device treatment phase. Use Meso US gel as the contact medium for the ultrasound.

This is the step that distinguishes the anti-ageing protocol from the oily skin protocol. The skin has just been exfoliated, its permeability is at its highest, and this is the only time when the active ingredients actually penetrate deeply. 3D hyaluronic acid replenishes the skin’s moisture reserves at three different depths, whilst the Age Repair Cocktail targets skin density and sagging.

Apply the appropriate mask: Mega Moist Mask for all skin types, Vitality Mask from the Timeless range for dry skin. Massage in for 15 minutes.

To enhance the results, do not remove the mask: apply the Gause Mask to the face, then the Over All Mask alginate mask on top, leave for 15 to 20 minutes and remove the whole thing in one go. Alginate does not work on its own — it seals in and helps the ingredients underneath to penetrate the skin. Remove any residue and wipe with a damp wipe.

Apply Meso Eye Lift to the eye area, followed by the cream suited to your skin type and condition: Cell Booster for all skin types, Age Control for combination to dry skin, and Meso Hydra Cream for basic moisturisation. It is essential to finish with sun protection.

SPF is not just an optional extra at the end of a treatment session. After a peel, the skin remains photosensitive for several days, and it is exposure to the sun that causes precisely the dark spots the peel was intended to treat: the treatment only works if sun protection is applied every morning until the course is complete. Advise the client to continue the treatment at home — the results achieved in the salon will fade within three weeks without maintenance.
