Waxing with wax cartridges – legs and arms
Wax cartridges are the quickest option available in supermarkets: the roller applies a thin, even layer, which minimises the amount of wax needed and reduces pain. The main drawback is the temperature: if the wax heater is set incorrectly, the wax will either run without sticking to the hairs, or it will become too thick and pull the hairs out.
This guide covers the entire procedure for the legs and arms — from hair removal to aftercare advice, including how to choose the right wax for your skin and hair type.
Remove any traces of sebum, cream and deodorant using a pre-waxing lotion. On oily skin, the wax adheres to the skin rather than the hairs, making waxing painful and leaving some hairs behind.

Dry the skin thoroughly, then dust it lightly with talcum powder. The talcum powder creates a barrier between the skin and the wax and absorbs any residual moisture: this is precisely what enables the wax to remove the hairs rather than the skin.

Three product ranges, three areas of application. Classic – natural resins, the standard choice for normal skin. Flex – a blend of synthetic and natural resins, characterised by high flexibility; it is applied in a thin layer over large areas and leaves no sticky residue; the ‘Oud’ variant has been designed for thick, frizzy hair. Top Line – a synthetic formula that prevents allergic reactions on sensitive skin, grips hairs from a length of 1 mm and is also suitable for fragile hair after shaving.

Apply the product in the direction of hair growth, forming strips the same width as the roller. Place the strip onto the skin, smooth it down twice, stretch the skin taut and remove the strip with a quick, decisive motion, parallel to the skin and against the direction of hair growth. Removing the strip with an upward motion causes the skin to tear.

Any residue from the product dissolves in oil, but never in water. Applying the oil after hair removal helps to both cleanse and soothe the skin.

Post-waxing Oil Lemon – Italwax, 250 ml
Apply the soothing lotion to the entire treated area. The redness should subside after one to two hours; if it does not, this means that the wax was too hot or that the wax strip was not applied correctly.

Explain to the client what they need to do at home: from the very next day, they should apply the lotion to prevent ingrown hairs and, from the third day onwards, use a scrub. These preventative measures should be taken between treatments, not during the treatments themselves.
