Hot wax hair removal – underarms and bikini line
Hot wax in a saucepan remains the ‘gold standard’ for underarms and the bikini line: by applying it with a spatula, you can measure it out with millimetre precision and spread it in the direction of hair growth, which is impossible with a wax roll.
These areas also present the greatest challenges when it comes to hair removal: thin skin, hairs growing in different directions, perspiration and sensitivity. This protocol describes the entire treatment process, from removing excess sebum to advice on caring for regrowth, including choosing the right type of wax for your skin type.
Apply the cleansing gel to your underarms or bikini line, then dry them thoroughly. These areas tend to sweat and may have traces of deodorant or soap: if they are not properly degreased, the wax will slide off and you will have to treat the same area twice.
Gel nettoyant avant épilation ITALWAX, 250 ml
Sprinkle a light dusting of talcum powder, taking care not to apply too thick a layer. Talcum powder is essential on areas prone to heavy sweating: it absorbs moisture, preventing the wax from sticking to the hair and soothing any burning sensation.

Flex and Vanira – a high-tech blend of synthetic and natural resins, which is applied in a thin layer using a spatula and leaves no sticky residue once removed. Work in strips no more than ten centimetres wide, following the grain and leaving a margin free for fastening. On the sheet, the grain changes several times: each section must be worked according to its own grain.
Wooden spatulas for body – Italwax
Apply the strip, smooth it down, hold the skin taut with one hand and remove the strip with the other, guiding the blade as close to the skin as possible and against the direction of hair growth. The hand that keeps the skin taut does half the work: it is precisely this hand that prevents bruising in the bikini line.
Non-Woven Roll – Italwax, 50 m
A skincare oil to be used after waxing, which removes wax residue and soothes the skin. Under no circumstances should you rub the skin when it is dry: on skin that has just been waxed, rubbing causes more severe redness than the wax itself.
Post-waxing Oil Menthol – Italwax, 250 ml
Finish the treatment with a lotion that slows down hair regrowth. Its effects are gradual and become noticeable after three or four regular treatments: by informing the client in advance, you will avoid any disappointment from the very first session.
