KART Pedicure — keratosis-free skin

Dry skin

The initial treatment protocol for the KART method. No keratolytic agents, no scraper, no exposure time to monitor: soap, enzymatic peel, occlusion, rinsing. A fifteen-minute application period during which the nails are treated.

It is designed for feet without calluses or hyperkeratosis — young feet, clients who are seen regularly, maintenance between full pedicures. It is also the protocol a salon uses to trial the method before investing in the full range: three products are sufficient.

On skin showing signs of keratosis, this protocol is not sufficient — it is necessary to move on to protocols involving keratolytics.

Apply the soap or foam to damp feet and massage for one to two minutes. Do not rinse: wipe with a cotton cloth, then leave to dry for one minute.

The lactic acid soap brings the skin’s pH down to 3.5. This is what makes the enzymatic exfoliation effective — and why there is no need for a preliminary antiseptic, as the soap itself is antiseptic.

Sizes: 7001 (100 ml) to start with, 7002 (300 ml) for regular salon use, 7044 as a foam.

Two pumps are enough for one foot. Spread evenly over the sole, like a mask, without rubbing it in.

Gently smooth over the edge of the heel and the top of the foot to cover the entire surface. Very dry skin absorbs the product quickly: reapply where it has been used up.

Papaya, apple and tomato enzymes, in a liposomal formula.

Wrap the feet in cling film or slip on cellophane slippers, then remove after 15 minutes.

The client must not place their foot on a hard surface during the treatment and must not get up from the chair.

Now is the time to treat the nail plates — see the pedicure nail care protocol.

On skin without keratosis, this step is optional and is only carried out as a finishing touch: use a 150- or 180-grit cap, at a speed of up to 15,000 rpm, without applying pressure.

If it is really necessary to treat the skin with the machine, it means that the chosen protocol is not the right one.
